The Oklahoma Income Tax
Oklahoma collects a state income tax at a maximum marginal tax rate of 5.50%, spread across seven tax brackets. Like the Federal Income Tax, Oklahoma's income tax allows couples filing jointly to pay a lower overall rate on their combined income with wider tax brackets for joint filers. There are a total of thirty states with higher marginal income tax rates then Oklahoma.
Some states such as Oklahoma effectively increase, but don't double, all or some bracket widths for joint filers (other states with this policy include GA, MN, NM, NC, ND, RI, VT, and WI). There are -39 days left until Tax Day, on April 15th 2013.

- Oklahoma allows itemized deductions, and you can claim the same itemized deductions on your Oklahoma tax return as you do on your Federal tax return.
