New Hampshire's individual tax rates apply to interest and dividend income only. Income tax is not levied on wages. You only have to file a New Hampshire Income Tax Return if you have earned over $2,400 annually ($4,800 for joint filers) in taxable dividend and interest income. Additional exemptions exist for seniors or disabled individuals:

  1. a $1,200 exemption is available for residents who are 65 years of age or older
  2. a $1,200 exemption is available for residents who are blind regardless of their age
  3. a $1,200 exemption is available to disabled individuals under age 65 who are unable to work
